On December 3rd, 2011, Smitha Seshadri (Andrew's sister-in-law) will walk from Andrew's first home in Mineola, Long Island to the UN Headquarters in New York City. This 25-mile walk is one way that Smitha would like to honor Andrew .Two of Andrew’s closest friends, Beatrice and Des McWeeney will be joining Smitha on the walk.

Smitha said “I have been forever changed by Andrew's loss and will continue to miss him deeply every day of my life.  But in that time, I have been humbled by the work the Andrew Grene Foundation has done, specifically building a school and inaugurating a microfinance branch.

With Gregory and Tim at the helm, Andrew's commitment to Haiti and her people continues to thrive. For those of us who had the privilege and honor of knowing Andrew, we know how deeply he was committed to the U.N. -- specifically his work in Haiti.  Andrew spoke so highly of the country and her people; despite many setbacks, they continue to see hope. “
